What is Hexhold?

A world map you can zoom from countries to provinces, districts and individual neighbourhoods (for example World › Turkey › Ankara › Çankaya › Bahçelievler). Every neighbourhood has one commander, won by clearing it of mutants in a short fight.

How do you become a neighbourhood's commander?

Accepted Answer

Win a short fight: an empty neighbourhood is held by mutants, and clearing them from your mothership makes you its commander for 7 days. A neighbourhood someone else commands can be taken with a raid.

Does it cost money?

Accepted Answer

No. Neighbourhoods are won in fights, never bought. The only optional purchase is a repair kit that removes waiting between fights for a day.

What does a commander get?

Accepted Answer

The neighbourhood sends resources to the commander's mothership every hour, and the commander's name is on the map. Watching an ad boosts a neighbourhood's output by 30% for 4 hours.

Which areas can have a commander?

Accepted Answer

Only neighbourhoods: the smallest administrative areas, with nothing smaller inside them. In Turkey these are mahalleler. Countries, provinces and districts are for navigating.

Countries and first-level regions come from Natural Earth; everything below comes from OpenStreetMap administrative boundaries.

How are payments handled?

Accepted Answer

Only the optional repair kit is sold, through Polar, which acts as merchant of record and handles card payments, VAT and sales tax. Hexhold never sees card details.
